Scripture Songs for Little Hearts

Scripture Songs for Little Hearts

Light Up My Path is the first kids’ Scripture album from The Doodlebug Club
— 13 simple, singable Bible songs written for children roughly ages 3–7.

Each track is built around a specific verse or Bible story, with melodies small children can actually follow. The goal is simple: help little hearts hide God’s Word inside them through songs they love to sing.

Why I’m Making Music for Kids Now

When my own children were small, we ended the day with bedtime devotions and Scripture spoken over them. In tough seasons — like when my son struggled with nightmares — I painted Psalm 91 on his pillowcase and prayed it over him night after night.

Now my kids are grown. This album is my way of sowing into the next generation — future grandchildren, and the children God has placed in your life too.

The Bible calls us to talk about God’s words when we sit at home and when we lie down and when we rise up, and to tell the next generation so that even children yet to be born may set their hope in God. These songs are one small way to do that.

By the way — the songs and melodies are written and arranged by me, and I use a mix of traditional music production and modern software and AI tools to bring the recordings to life. Every lyric and creative decision still starts with the same place it always has, the Word and a heart for the kids who will hear it.

What You’ll Find on Light Up My Path

Light Up My Path includes:

  • Love the Lord Your God — the greatest commandment in a melody little ones remember
  • Let Everything That Has Breath — a praise song for active kids
  • Trust in the Lord — Proverbs 3:5–6 for everyday worries
  • I Can Do All Things — Philippians 4:13 for courage and confidence
  • Psalm 91 Lullaby — a gentle bedtime blessing

Every song is written to be:

  • Short and simple — easy for young children to follow
  • Straight from Scripture — not just “good values”
  • Singable for small voices — limited range, clear phrases, lots of repetition

Who This Music Is For

  • Parents and grandparents who want more than background noise — they want the Word of God in the atmosphere of their homes
  • Homeschool families looking for Bible memory tools that don’t feel like tests
  • Children’s ministries that need straightforward, Scripture-based songs for small groups and Sunday school
  • Anyone who wants to invest in the spiritual future of children and grandchildren not just with words, but with habits and soundtracks

How to Use Light Up My Path in Everyday Life

You don’t need a program or a schedule. Just weave the songs into moments you already have:

  • Bedtime — play Psalm 91 Lullaby or another gentle track as you tuck them in and pray
  • Car rides — replace random playlists with the album and let Scripture play on repeat
  • Quiet play — keep the songs on while they colour, build or play with their toys
  • Kids’ ministry — use one song per week as the “theme verse” for your class

Little repetitions add up. Over time, those verses become their own.

The Doodlebug Club World

The music is part of a bigger picture. The Doodlebug Club also includes:

  • Scripture blankets with verses and friendly characters
  • Stories and printables that echo the same Scriptures found in the songs

Everything is designed to work together, giving you multiple ways to surround children with the Word — something they can hear, read, sing and snuggle under.
